Tena koutou katoa

I am writing my comment from Wellington at the Catholic Education conference. We celebrate our values of family and whanau spirit at Verdon and talk about being a family.  What is clear at this conference is that we are definitely part of a much larger Catholic family and that family is going from strength to strength.  I feel a real sense of pride in being part of this family working together for the spiritual personal and educational development of the young people in our school.  There is an amazing quality and diversity to the Catholic schools from around the country and it is easy to see why so many parents are seeking placement in Catholic schools.

I would like to thank the members of the PTA for their work on the cheese rolls fundraiser.  The work achieved by the committee and all of their helpers has been amazing and the College community really appreciates this work.

Finally I would ask that the community keep in their thoughts and prayers all of our families that have suffered the loss of family members. We pray that they may find the strength and receive the support to help them through this time.

God bless
