We have come to the end of another year for our senior students who are now on leave to complete their NCEA examinations. Our senior prize giving last week was an extremely positive occasion and a great opportunity to celebrate the success that our students have achieved both individually and collectively throughout the year.  I congratulate all those recognised in the prize-giving, your success a reward for your hard work, persistence and determination, is thoroughly deserved. I would also like to acknowledge the Year 13 leavers for their outstanding contribution to the College this year.    I would like to thank all those parents and whanau that attended the prize giving and made this occasion such a special event.

We have had a very positive and focused lead into external NCEA examinations and all indications are that we are on track to achieve even more positive results, at all levels of NCEA, than last year. Junior examinations begin this week and it is a great opportunity for students in years 9 and 10 to get in some experience of examination prior to undertaking NCEA over the next few years.

We welcomed our new enrolments for  year 7 2014  on Friday at our new entrants day. The students spent the day undertaking some testing and then spending time with year 12 students who led them in a number of games and activities.  It was also a very nice opportunity to welcome new parents to the College at our morning tea.  We are very much looking forward to welcoming all back to the College next year.

I would like to thank all those involved in the PTA truffles fundraiser. Your assistance in making this fundraiser a success is greatly appreciated.

I would ask that we keep in our prayers all those that have lost loved ones and been affected by the recent typhoon in the Philippines.

God Bless

Jarlath Kelly
