This past week I was so very proud of our students’ representation  of Verdon College at the Junior Quadrangular.  There were a good number of very positive performances across the range of sports contested. It was great to watch our teams doing so well.  The competition in this tournament has gone from strength to strength and with three wins separating three schools at the top of the points table it certainly was a tightly contested event.  It is a great opportunity to get together as Diocesan family.  One of the aspects of the tournament that I was very proud of was the leadership shown by our senior students as officials and coaches for our teams.  I would like to thank these students for their leadership and support of our younger students.

I was also very pleased with the Ball this year. The event was very well organised and I would like to acknowledge  Mr Scobie and Mr Mackay and all the College staff involved along with the students organizing committee along with Mrs Scobie for her assistance with the  dance lessons. I would very confidently say that the Ball was one of the best such occasions that I have attended. The spirit and positive feeling on the night was outstanding.  We can feel very proud of our senior students and the way they are example of our school values on such an occasion.

We are coming up to our enrolment season, a time of the year that we enjoy, welcoming new members of our family.  We are interested in hearing from Catholic families currently not in the Catholic schooling system as part of our focus on supporting the development of all Catholic students. We would ask as part of that mission that you all please encourage them to come to our Open Day early next term or to make contact with us to find out about what we do for students at Verdon College.

Again, I ask for everyone to keep in their prayers those members of our community both past and present that are dealing with Illness at this time.  We pray for their full recovery and the Lords Blessing on them and their families at this time.

God Bless

Jarlath Kelly
