It has been a great if not exceptionally busy couple of weeks at the College with two key events taking place The Verdon Showcase and the College Ball.

I would like to congratulate all those involved in the College Showcase which had an amazing season.  We can be very proud to have so many students involved—130 students—in performances on stage, (20 % of the College roll) this is a testament to the talent we have at Verdon College. I have received so  much positive feedback about the show and the format this year which has uncovered so much young talent at the College in particular. This depth of talent bodes well for the future with students already planning for next years production. It was also very pleasing  to see this event supported by the community with very full houses and one sell out on the final night. A big thank you to those sponsors that support our students endeavours.

I would also like to congratulate our senior students on the Ball, which is largely student organised, led by the Ball committee.  It was an outstanding evening and the Verdon College spirit was clearly on show.  It is great to see our students enjoying each others company at this event.  Having attended many school balls at other schools I think that we can be extremely proud of our Ball and our students behaviour and attendance at this event.

I would like to thank the community for their support of our recent Teacher Only Day. While we are achieving outstanding results for our students as a community, we are very keen, as a staff, to continue to look at different ways of improving outcomes for the students of the college.   This latest professional development day focused  on use of modern technology in all teaching areas, maximizing the achievement of all learners along with  how we can continue to better demonstrate our core Catholic values in or professional roles at the College.

God Bless
