Kia ora koutou katoa We are coming to the end of the year for senior students. Senior Prizegiving on Wednesday 4th November is a great opportunity to get together and celebrate our successes for the year. Prizegiving is not just about those that have achieved awards it is also about supporting each other as members of a Catholic community and I would remind senior students that there is an expectation to attend this occasion. This is our last opportunity to get together for the year and celebrate our year 13 students as they take the next steps in their journey. I would like to thank the staff of the College for all of the extra time and effort they are putting into supporting students achievement through tutorials leading up to examinations and the efforts of those staff in practical subjects providing extra time. I would encourage senior students to keep up the good work in focusing on their studies. I would also encourage as many students as possible to be focusing on their external examinations towards achieving endorsement in subject areas they have particular strength in. Our upcoming year 8 and year 10 camps are an important opportunity for students to participate in our outdoor programmes for the year. These camps provide great opportunity for students to test themselves in unfamiliar situation and to develop positive relationships with their peers. We understand that it is sometimes difficult to fund camps, however, there are a number of supports in place to ensure every student can attend. This support ranges from ensuring students have the right equipment and clothing to go to support with camp costs. If you need any assistance what so ever talk to the Camp organiser, the year level dean or Mr Mackay. A very big thank you to the PTA which have made a donation of $22,000 to the College. These funds will be used to support the development of sound and lighting in the Hall and the Performing Art Centre, to support the development of technology in the music area with the provision of fourteen iMacs and another 5,000 for the development of a media and audio visuals equipment in our new media space. These are very exciting projects and we very much appreciate the support of the PTA in assisting in these developments of the College. Also, a big thank you to all those that have supported their fundraising efforts throughout the year. God Bless Jarlath Kelly
