Kia ora koutou katoa It has been a very productive and busy start to the term and I have been really pleased with the level of involvement of students in winter sports teams. Once again this year we have had an increase in the number of students involved in winter sports particularly in netball and basketball. Having watched some of the games played in a number of sports I think we can be really proud of the way our students work together and demonstrate their values of fair play and competitiveness in all of the different sports and grades they are competing in. Our Production preparations and rehearsals are in full swing. I have had the privilege of seeing some of the student performances and work that is currently going on to support this show. Having our Production in our revamped school hall and some innovative thinking of our staff, has enabled us to involve our students in providing music to support the on stage performances. I think there are some very exciting things developing in this year’s performances. I would encourage you all to support the Production through buying tickets from the school office and coming along to support all of the hard work that students and staff have put into this event. We have sent home information to families to assist with supporting study and learning at the College, particularly for senior students. The College is focused on senior students’ success in external examinations which will involve early preparations and study throughout the year. Research shows that students’ success in tertiary education is directly correlated to their success in external examinations while at school. The information provided will assist both students and parents and will help develop the habits to underpin this success. Please remember to keep all our community members struggling with illness of loved family members, along with those dealing with grief and loss in your prayers. May God's love continue to be with them and provide them with the strength they need at this time.
