Kia ora koutou katoa The term is flying along and it is pleasing to see our students positively engaging with both their studies and extracurricular activities. There has been an amazing amount of work put into this year’s Production. For the first time in a number of years we are able to hold this in our school hall. This will be the first opportunity to have a function with our upgraded lighting and sound systems. This work represents around a $40,000 investment in the stage and performance space in the Hall. This would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our PTA. I do encourage you to come along and support our students and staff by attending this Production. I would remind senior students to continue their positive focus on their work at this stage of the year as we are getting close to the half way point in terms of teaching time for senior students. The aggregation of credits towards qualification is a positive measure of students’ success. As I have outlined previously student progression in education and success in tertiary education is directly correlated to success in external examination while at school. It is important that students at the College are focussed on preparing thoroughly for end of year external assessment throughout the year. In line with our Verdon College has SOUL value of "Striving to be the best that we can be" I would also encourage all students to make sure that they are discussing their learning with their teachers and asking them how they might continue to improve their performance. This is particularly important to do this on an ongoing basis and prior to any assessment task that they may have. I would ask that your continue to keep all those struggling with illness or grief at this time in your prayers. God Bless Jarlath Kelly
